Allison Guerriero, MS, CCC-SLP

Undergraduate: University of Pittsburgh

Graduate: University of Pittsburgh

Hi! I am Allison and I am a speech-language pathologist living in the south hills of Pittsburgh. I am so excited to be a part of the Uptown Speech team, bringing quality speech therapy to the neighborhoods south of the Mon'!

Work Experience

After building a strong foundation within the UPMC hospital system here in Pittsburgh, I decided to move across the country to Colorado, where I worked in a variety of settings as a traveling speech therapist. I worked at a school district providing therapy to children aged preschool-high school, as well as a local critical access hospital, where I treated both pediatric and adult clients across inpatient, outpatient, and home health settings. Since returning to Pittsburgh in 2020, I have been providing both teletherapy as well as outpatient therapy services to children with speech and language disorders. I also continue to work providing therapy to adults who have suffered from a stroke or brain injury. My areas of expertise include articulation and phonological disorders, motor speech disorders, early language development, aphasia, dysphagia, and feeding disorders. My therapy approach is client-led, as I believe that each person's needs are unique and deserving of a therapy plan that is catered to them. I keep things fun, relevant, and engaging for clients of all ages!

A Bit More About Me

I live with my husband, Matt, our daughter, Joanna, and our cat, Harriet, in Brookline. Matt and I love to keep busy with fun activities throughout the year. On the weekends you will find us going to sporting events, attending local festivals, or trying out new restaurants. We also enjoy keeping active by hiking the numerous trails/parks of Pittsburgh and surrounding areas. When I need to unwind from my busy lifestyle, I keep grounded by practicing yoga and mindfulness meditations.
