Leanna Crowley, MS, CCC-SLP
Undergraduate: University of Pittsburgh
Graduate: West Virginia University
Hi! I’m Leanna, a part-time speech therapist with Uptown Speech. I am so excited to join Sarah and Carly as they continue to provide skilled speech and language intervention to our community!
Work Experience
I completed my undergraduate studies at Pitt where I majored in Psychology and minored in Linguistics. It was during my time as an undergrad working with several research labs focusing on communication and language development, that I found my interest in the field of speech language pathology. I then went on to complete my Masters at WVU. Almost ten years ago, I returned to Pittsburgh to begin my career. I have experience providing individual and group services to children ages 18 months -21 years of age in both the school and outpatient settings. My areas of expertise include expressive and receptive language, social skills, articulation, and Augmentative and Alternative Communication (AAC). My therapy approach is functional intervention that involves a child’s interests, routines, and their families in order to keep sessions fun and motivational!
A Bit More About Me
I live in Mt. Lebanon with my husband, Adam, and our daughter, Nora. We have three rescue animals - our dog Molly and our two cats, Milo and Marlin. Life with a toddler keeps me busy so you’ll most often see me making the rounds at the closest playgrounds and libraries. When I’m not chasing Nora around, you might also see me riding along the local bike trails - Montour and Panhandle are my favorites. I have lots of family in the area and I love spending time them. In true Pittsburgh fashion, we often fill our weekends with family, food, and football!
